Blurring the lines of delicacy and the inner rebel. Inspired by the Gods and Demons of the Silver screen; tragic starlets and pitiful poets. Zakonna Mavid creates a world for his muse; dark, deadly and alluring. A romanticised, stylised, melancholic world for his fallen angel, the blue beauty queen. A world with a tight grip on timeless glamour and black broken hearts.
ZM uses 1/2 scale mannequins within the toiling stage of a new garment. This innovative method saves over 70% of fabric usage/waste, therefore significantly reducing the Carbon footprint of an individual garment, resulting in lower CO2 output. As well as a reduction in potential wastage, reducing the risk of landfill”.
The fashion industry contributes to 10% of humanity's carbon emissions, what's more, 85% of textile usage goes to waste each year.

“I believe, that at the present date, the focus on alternate textiles within the fashion industry is misguided, this practice only leads to other areas of harm such as water and land pollution, as well as other detrimental fertiliser effects on the surrounding wildlife.

Made to Order, in my opinion, is the only sustainable fashion methodology, not only is it the slowest form of fashion, but it represents the finest of craftsmanship and the dressmaking ability that the world has to offer.
